Got to Wear Shades~~iheartfaces

The decision for this photo challenge was so hard! The first pic that came to mind was my husband wearing these same bright green glasses at our wedding! However, since my dear friend Bowen (who saved my wedding by flying in from Hawaii last minute to photograph my wedding after my photographer cancelled 2 days before my wedding) took the picture, I knew this would be the one I entered.

I took my "assistant" Kaycee to the park with me to help out with a shoot. While we were waiting for the family to show we snapped off a few pics, just goofing off. This one absolutely caputured her personality! She's that spunky gal who loves off the wall bright colors (and ones that dont match to boot!).

"Pets" Photo Challenge @ iheartfaces !

This is my baby. My 9 month old, 90lb Great Dane, Nova. We adopted this beauty from our local animal shelter as a 40lb 4 month old. Her life didn't start out so good. The animal control found her, starving, in a major ice storm we had here in Oklahoma. But...when we saw her sweet face, we knew the frost bitten, scared, and sick puppy was the next member of our family. Now her 6 human family members and her older brother chihuahua, Chili, couldn't imagine life without her!

This photo was taken a few weeks ago while we were visiting family in Pennsylvania. We stopped by our family cemetary to pay respects to my grandparents, and she took comfort in the shade between my Grandma and Grandpa. They sure would have loved her!

I ♥ Faces - Celebrating Teens

I remember the day I first met this angel. It was 3:24am and my Mother told me to look at the beautiful baby I was bringing into this world. When I first saw her, my instant response was "Oh my God!" At this, she turned her little head around and looked up as if she was searching for my voice. I would forever be a different woman. Love like I've never felt before.

So, I thought it would be fitting that my first born be my first entry in a photo challenge. I am ever so proud of the brilliant young woman she has become.
